Okay, I never write anything in my journal, so here's a rant.
In case you didn't know, Toronto is one of the biggest cities in Canada. Some people even say Toronto is to Canada as New York is to USA. So yeah, basically a big city. And as you know, big cities means a bunch of crackheads looking for any opportunity to make money.
So last week, the landlord downstairs was doing construction (illegal, just to let you know). And one day, I open my door to find out the whole freaking deck disappeared over a couple of hours, and replaced by a ladder. He built stairs later, but that's not the point. The thing is, that deck is usually where my brother and I kept our bikes, so now we just had to put them down on the pavement.
One day, as we were unpacking laundry from the laundromat, our neighbour yelled for our dad, and he looked outside to find some asshole just leaving with my bike. My dad took my brother's bike to go after him, and then I see my brother follow after him on foot...putting a wrench down his pocket.
They were both back 15 minutes later, and never found out where the thief went. I wasn't too angry, because my dad agreed to get me a new bike later, because I had gotten that one for my birthday only a couple weeks ago. The thing is though, the bikes were unlocked, which is why they were an easy target. But my brother had left his bike on that deck, unlocked for over a year, and it was never stolen. And the
one day when the deck is gone...there goes my bike.
Now, the part that really pisses me off. Yesterday, my brother went to the mall to get something to eat. He locked his bike outside (with a heavy duty chain, even), and went inside. He comes outside 15 minutes later, and it's
GONE.
EVERYTHING, INCLUDING THE CHAIN.In my family, that makes 7 bikes in the last year and a half. 9, if you count the fact that we recovered 2 of them, and they just got stolen again

.
tl;dr: THEY DUN STOLED MAH BIKE.
EDIT: Today, I got my bike back

. My brother saw it locked up on some street, so he went to get my dad, and he brought over a bunch of people from his worksite with him. Even though they never threatened with violence, it definitely gave them an intimidation factor. My dad told the guy he wants my bike back, or he's calling the cops, and get this:
The guy wanted $20 for it. So my brother started dialing 911, and the guy immediately gave in, and, well, I have my bike back now, still in perfect shape. So, happy happy happy all around and all that stuff.

Ego still exists but he no longer takes residence at this address. Try 'Castle Another, 42 Win Street, My Imagination'.
